2010 Community Calendar contest winners announced!
Free calendars available in late December
Posted Date: 11/12/2009 6:00 AM

A big congratulations goes out from the Town of Apple Valley to our 2010 Green Apple Valley Community Calendar award winners. Art, Photo and Essay contestants were judged based on relevance to the calendar theme and application to the month or season. Some months will include both art and excerpts from the winning essays.

The Green Apple Valley Calendar informs residents how they can become a "Green Apple," someone who cares for their community, the environment and their neighborhood. It lists Tire Amnesty Days, Mattress Drop Off Days and Household Hazardous Waste. You can find out when to volunteer for Community Clean Up Days, and how to save energy, water, and reusable goods with Green Apple Tips. The calendar also lists important meetings so that residents can become more active in the decision making process, as well as an A to Z resource directory with informative phone numbers.

To get your copy of the 2010 Green Apple Valley Community Calendar come by Town Hall in late December. Thanks to the generosity and support of Burrtec Waste Industries the calendars will be free of charge.

For more information please write Sierra Webb or call (760) 240-7000 x 7072.
