Two measures are being presented to the voters on Election Day, November 8, 2016. At the July 26, 2016 Town Council meeting, the Council discussed and took action on the following items:

Report on Initiative Measure proposing that the issuance of debt in excess of $10 million be subject to voter approval

This report includes the full text of the measure, an explanation of the provisions, implications for future projects, and practical and potential legal limitations. (This measure qualified for the ballot through the signature-gathering process). Council received and filed the report.

Resolution to place the above initiative on the November ballot:

This item contains the ballot pamphlet language for this initiative. Council approved the resolution.

Resolution to place a council-initiated ballot measure, to authorize the financing of the acquisition of the Liberty Utilities Water System by issuing public debt in excess of $5 million.

This item contains full text of the measure brought forward by the Town Council, as well as the ballot pamphlet language. Council approved the resolution.
